Thank you for writing this Shalini! This is such an important topic. Too many organizations have hired people of color to help them create more respectful, collaborative work environments, and then when these leaders start getting some traction, they are punished for doing the very thing they were hired to do. It's so wrong on so many levels--unjust and impractical. It's like hiring someone to clean up your mess in your house, and then firing them for tidying up.
